Series of paper heads inspired by Motankas (traditional Ukrainian dolls) for the show “ Maïdan inferno ”.

The characters are Ukrainian citizens who participate in the Maidan revolution.

I wanted to work from a traditional symbol to highlight the cultural aspect of this revolution which resulted in the rehabilitation of the historical and artistic movements which defined independent Ukraine.

The choice of paper with its brittle aesthetic underlines the fragility of the revolutionaries.
